The Early Years Provision at Ribbon Academy uniquely combines a 78-place nursery, a 90-place reception setting and a 63 place Childcare provider (Ribbon Day Care).
Children access education and childcare within one unique Early Years provision, delivering a bespoke Early Years curriculum, which aims to meet the needs and wants of all learners.
The Early Years Provision is a magical place for young children to learn and explore. Areas of learning have been carefully designed to ensure children are exposed to activities and experiences that facilitate learning across all seven areas of learning and development outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework:
- communication and language
- physical development
- personal, social and emotional development
- literacy
- mathematics
- understanding the world
- expressive arts and design
The Early Years team consists of school Practitioners and day-care Practitioners, who work closely together to ensure seamless provision for all children, accessing varying combinations of education and childcare.
Early Years Practitioners are ‘partners in learning’ supporting children as they engage in a balance of adult led and child led activities. Phonics, literacy and maths skills are taught through discrete teaching sessions as well as weaving through contextual play-based learning across the day.
Ribbon Early Years gives children the best possible start and builds the foundations for future learning.
